Stump, daughter of the late Henry and Annie Thompson of Pekin, Md., and widow of the late Perry Stump, died Monday morning at 9:15 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Bittner, on North Street, with whom she was spending the summer. Mrs. Stump was a resident of Columbus, Ohio, having gone to that city after the death of her husband, who at the time of his death was a police officer here. The Stumps removed from Lonaconing to Meyersdale over 20 years ago, Mr. Stump having been Lonaconing's first policeman. Mrs. Stump, with her parents, migrated to this country from Scotland when she was but five years of age. They settled in Pekin, Md., where she spent her early years. She was a faithful member of the Reformed Church, a good, kind and thoughtful mother and friend. She was beloved by all who were fortunate enough to know her and will be mourned by many. For the last few years she suffered with arthritis which finally left her in such a crippled condition that she was a complete invalid. At the time of her death she was 68 years old. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harry Bittner of Meyersdale and Mrs. George Lewis of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Henry and John Stump, also of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. William Wiland, Akron, O., and Mrs. Anna Stewart, Lonaconing, Md., and nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 at the Harry Bittner residence, by Rev. B. A. Black. Interment was made in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow, Md., with Undertakers R. Reich & Son in charge of the funeral arrangements. The pall-bearers were C. Howard Shockey, Ralph Barnett, James Campbell, David Spence, Ray Leckemby and James L. Wilson. Among those who came from distant places to attend the funeral services for Mrs. Isabel Stump were: Mr. and Mrs. George Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. John Stump, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stump, Columbus, Ohio; Perry and Robert Ginnevan, of Donora, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Neil, West Springfield, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gillian, Connellsville; Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Vaughn and son, Parkersburg, W.Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stewart, Sarah Stewart, John Stewart, Govin Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, Mrs. Agnes Smith and husband, Lonaconing, Md., and Mrs. Andrew Moreland and daughter, Albany, N.Y.
