Sturtz, 81, Hooversville, passed away April 10, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born April 3, 1925, in Somerset County, son of the late Cyrus and Mable (Shoemaker) Sturtz. Preceded in death by brothers, Daniel, John, William, Wilbert and an infant brother; sisters, Mary Deem and Blanche Peterman. Survived by loving wife of 56 years, the former Faye Seese; and children, Bonnie, wife of the late Cecil Snyder, Johnstown; Larry, married to the former Celestine Sotosky, Hooversville; Karen, wife of Gary Black, Windber; and Rhonda, wife of Jack Yourich, Davidsville. Brother of Cyrus, Julia Bridges and Raymond. Also survived by nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Hooversville, where he was past deacon and president of the men's fellow-ship. He worked for Alumbaugh Coal Co. and then retired from Quaker Sales. Cletus enjoyed hunting, playing softball and working with his homemade saw mill. He was especially proud of his maple syrup camp. Friends were received Wednesday after-noon and evening at Meek Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where a funeral service was held Thursday. The Rev. Brian Simmons and the Rev. John Eash, officiated. Interment was at Berkey Cemetery, Windber.
