  John Robert Sturtz, 92, Sturtz Road, Stoystown, died March 15, 2005, at home.
  Born July 15, 1912, in Meyersdale, a son of Cyrus and Mabel (Shoemaker) Sturtz.
  Preceded in death by parents, wife Celda, brothers: Edison, William, Wilbert, an
  infant, and a sister Mary Deem. Survived by children: Larry; Linda, married to
  James W. Barron, both of Somerset; David, married to the former Myrtle Barron,
  Frederick, Md.; and Sharon, married to David Speelman, Friedens; and six
  grandchildren. Also survived by brothers: Cyrus, Cletus and Raymond Sturtz; and
  sisters: Julia Bridges and Blanche Peterman. He is a World War II Army veteran,
  and he retired from PennDOT. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
  p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where a service will be held 10
  a.m. Friday. The Rev. John Emig officiating. Interment Pike Cemetery,
  Brotherton.
