Sturtz Sr., 81, Wellersburg, died Oct. 6, 1981 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born in Barrelville, Md., and was a son of the late Joseph and Lillie (Geary) Sturtz. His wife, Minnie Elizabeth (Gaumer) Sturtz, preceded him in death. He was a retired bus driver for Mount Savage Bus Lines with 35 years of service and was a member of Wellersburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by a son, Lloyd S. Sturtz, Jr., Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. Madeline Kirby, Mrs. Thelma Shuck and Mrs. Gladys Witt, all of Wellersburg; four brothers, Ralph Sturtz, Hyndman RD; Daniel Sturtz and Calvin Sturtz, Wellersburg; and Melvin Sturtz, Winchester Road, Cumberland; five sisters: Mrs. Florence Dryer, Mrs. Ethel Davis and Mrs. Carrie Robinette, all of Cumberland; Mrs. Nora Long, Mrs. Erma Robinette, both of Wellersburg; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Friends were received at the Zeigler Funeral Home. Services were conducted at the Wellersburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allyn L. Rickeets officiating. Interment will be in Cooks Cemetery, Wellersburg. The Republic, October 15, 1981 [S3226]
