Stutzman, 87, Friedens, formerly of Stonycreek Township, died March 24, 2000 at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug. 2, 1912, in Stonycreek Township, son of Walter and Sadie (Trent) Stutzman. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Mae Walker and Bernice Lepczyk; and brother, Merle "Bud". Survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Dorothy M. Arden, and these children: Patti Ann, married to Ronald Trent, William Harold, married to the former Bonnie Lambert, Richard Walter, married to the former Iris Miller, all of Friedens; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Brother of Luella Duppstadt, Stoystown; Dorothy Reffner, Mesa, Ariz.; Jean Friedline, Somerset; Ruth Whipple, California; and Ralph Stutzman, Friedens. Retired Stonycreek Township farmer. Member of First Christian Church, Somerset, where he served as deacon. Member of National Wild Turkey Federation. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Dan Nicksich officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
