Stutzman, 96, of Friedens RD 2, died Nov. 12, 1985, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Luella Duppstadt. Born Dec. 25, 1888, in Somerset Township. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Sadie Trent; son, Merle; and daughter, Mae Walker. He is survived by these children: Harold, married to Dorothy Arden, and Ralph, married to Kathleen Walker, both of Friedens RD 2; Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Whipple of Petaluma, Calif.; Mrs. Virgil (Luella) Duppstadt, Stoystown RD 3; Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Reffner, Mesa, Ariz; Mrs. Ernest (Jean) Hoffman, Somerset; Mrs. Bernice Lepczyk, Talson, Md.; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was a retired coal miner and Stonycreek Township dairy farmer. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will lie in state at Faith Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Charles J. Hartbauer officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
