Mrs. Suder was a daughter of the late Jonathan and Kate (Boyer) Deeter, and was born in Allegheny Township in Deeter's Gap and lived in Somerset County her entire life, most of her married life being spent in Larimer Township. For the past few years Mr. and Mrs. Suder spent the winter months with their daughter, Mrs. George Wetmiller, in Berlin, and only last week had returned to their home at Deal. Tuesday night, April 21, Mrs. Suder had retired, but thought her head was too low and got up and went into another room for an extra pillow. While groping her way back to her room, in the dark, she mistook the staircase entrance for the entrance to her room and fell head-long down a short flight of stairs, landing on her face with considerable force, which caused her face to be badly bruised and cut and as a result she lost quite a bit of blood. Her husband found her and helped her to get back in bed. She suffered considerable pain from her injuries and the shock of the fall, but retained consciousness until Monday evening, April 27, when she became weaker and died the following afternoon. For many years Mrs. Suder had been an active member of the Reformed Church of White oak. She reared a large and very fine family, and in addition to being a wonderful Christian and mother was a splendid neighbor, loved by all with whom she came in contact for her noble character and sincere and friendly disposition. She is survived by her husband, four sons, Calvin and Henry Suder, of Meyersdale; William Suder, of Deal, and George Suder, of Boston, Mass.; six daughters, Mrs. Lewis Knepp, of Deal; Mrs. Henry Geiger, of Wittenberg; Mrs. George Wetmiller, of Berlin; Mrs. Charles Fair, of Connellsville; Mrs. Harry Housel, of Meyersdale, and Mrs. Anna Cessna, of Cumberland; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Miller, of Shanksville, and Mrs. Abraham Miller, of the state of Iowa, and one brother, William H. Deeter, of Meyersdale. Funeral services were conducted today (Thursday), April 30th, at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. E. Gindlesperger, pastor of the White Oak Reformed Church, officiating. Interment was made in the Reformed Cemetery at White Oak. Undertaker J. L. Tressler of Meyersdale had charge of the funeral arrangements. Meyersdale Republican, April 30, 1931
