Mrs. Sugier was playing Santa Claus for her nephew Patrick Payton, and was attacked by a choking spell, and before a doctor could be secured, she has passed away. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Jeanne Payton, manager of the New Colonial Inn in the absence of her husband, S/Sgt. William Payton, in the Philippines; Julia Ferrier, Donora, Pa., and Mrs. Louise Beates, Cleveland, Ohio; and four brothers, F. C. Ferrier, Aliquippa, Pa.; Adrian, Paul and George Ferrier, Donora. The body was removed to the home of her sister, Miss Julia Ferrier in Donora for interment there. Mrs. Sugier would have been 50 years old if she had lived until December 29th. She had been at the New Colonial Inn ever since the Paytons took over the management, and was well known to many citizens of Salisbury and vicinity. Meyersdale Republican, January 4, 1945
