Suhrie, 77, of Rosamond, Calif., formerly of New Baltimore, died July 16, 1997, at his home. Born Aug. 23, 1919, at New Baltimore. Son of the late Pius and Mary (Buratty) Suhrie. Survived by wife, Stella (Lira) Suhrie, and sons: David B. Suhrie, Pensacola, Fla.; James M. Suhrie, Pittsburgh, and John R. Suhrie and Gregory A. Suhrie, both of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Regis Suhrie, Bedford RD 7, and former wife Helen (Bruce) Heath, Daleville, Ala. There are 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sister, Margaret Wambaugh, and brother, Charles Suhrie. Graduate of Duquesne University. Employed as metalurgist for U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh. Army veteran of World War II. A member of St. Mary of the Desert Catholic Church in Rosamond, Calif. Viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg. A wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Services at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, Rev. Mark Begly officiating.
