Suhrie, 80, Berlin RD 3, died Saturday, Nov. 12, at his home. He was a son of the late Francis and Mary (Topper) Suhrie and was born Dec. 5, 1868, in Somerset County. He was interested in public school affairs in Allegheny Township where he served as director for many years. At the time of his death he was serving his fourth term as justice of the peace of Allegheny Township. His wife, Mrs. Minnie Weightman Suhrie, preceded him in death. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Dr. Ambrose L. Suhrie, Collegedale, Tenn., Miss Agnes M. Suhrie, Phillipsburg; Sister M. Bertilla, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Margaret Werner, Pottstown; Norman Suhrie, Landsdale; Mrs. Martha Strittmater, Sewell, N.J.; and Mrs. May C. Fisher, Bedford. The body lay in state at the Johnson Funeral Home, Berlin, until Tuesday morning when it was removed to the home of Mrs. Pius Suhrie, New Baltimore. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, with the Rev. Father Sebastian J. Urinaur officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, November 17, 1949
