"Gus" Supanick, 86, Pittsburgh, formerly of Gray, died Feb. 28, 2002, at the VA Medical Center, Aspinwall. Born Aug. 4, 1915, in Acosta, son of Frank and Mary (Lucincic) Supanick. Preceded in death by parents; two infant sisters, an infant brother, sister, Julia Lasapio, and brothers, John and Jacob. Survived by wife of 55 years, the former Hope E. Walker, children: Bruce, married to Regina Breslin, Huntington, Md.; and Beth, married to Edward McDonald, Lexington, S.C.; grandchildren: Daniel, Clair, Beradette and Michael Supanick, and Steven, Cynthia and Michelle McDonald; and sister, Sophia Gerber, Montross, Va. A 1936 graduate of Berlin High School. Army veteran of World War II. Member of Allegheny United Church of Christ, DAV and VFW, all of Pittsburgh. Retired carpenter. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer officiating.
