    I. Webb Surratt Jr., 79, of Somerset, died Jan. 7, 1996, at
  Somerset Patriot Manor.  Born June 27, 1916, Belspring, Va., the son
  of the late Dr. Isaac W. and Edna Stoyer (Gordon) Surratt Sr. 
  Survived by cousins: Mrs. Marie K. Higgs of Somerset; Mrs. Douglas R.
  (Lynne) Trevett, Columbia, S.C., and Larry R. Higgs of Reading.  A
  member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset.  Former elder of
  the First Presbyterian Church of Dayton, Ohio.  Received his bachelor
  of arts degree from Hampden-Sidney College-Virginia and master's
  degree from the University of Virginia & Columbia University.  Was a
  former Associate Professor at North Carolina State University. 
  Retired after 26 years as professor of humanities at Wright-Patterson
  Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio.  Friends will be received from 9:30 to
  11 a.m. Saturday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will
  be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Revs. Keith M. Fink and
  Raymond E. Lyon officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial
  Park.  Contributions may be made to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church,
  132 E. Union St., Somerset, Pa. 15501.
