Suter, 72, of Friendsville, MD, died Saturday, June 23, 1990, at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, MD. Born in Hoyes, MD, June 24, 1917, he was the son of the late Jacob and Pearl (Sliger) Suter. He was a maintenance man employed by the Army Corps of Engineers at the Yough Dam, in Confluence. He was a veteran of World War II where he fought in the invasion of France. He was a member of the Friendsville VFW Post 8769, the Friendsville Woodmen of the World Camp 45 and the Rush Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Hazel (Little) Suter; one son, John Suter, Friendsville, MD; one daughter, Barbara Friend, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; one brother, Robert Suter, Hancock, MD; one sister, Helen Friend, McHenry, MD; and three grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, MD, where services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ray Perkins. Interment, Flatwoods Cemetery, Accident, MD.
