Born March 26, 1921 in Meyersdale, he is the son of the late Lewis and Esther (Shumaker) Sutton. Mr. Sutton was also preceded in death by his wife, Augusta L. (Walker) "Gussie" Sutton in 1997; and one sister, Audrie Hostettler-Schrock. Surviving are two sons, Robert Sutton and wife Mary, Aurora, Colo. and David Sutton and wife Delia, Stoystown; two daughters Nancy Mitchell and husband William, Somerset and Rita Hay and husband Nevin Rockwood; 12 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren and he provided foster care to 23 children. Mr. Sutton was a retired campus police officer with Frostburg State University and he was a retired U.S. Army veteran of World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Sutton was a member of Farrady Post 24 American Legion, Frostburg; the V.F.W Old Rail Post 6025, Mt. Savage, and the Frostburg Eagles Aerie 1273. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Md. where a funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Ed Irwin officiating. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by members of Old Rail Post 6024 and Farrady Post 24 Post honor guards. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Cash Valley Road, LaVale, Md. Pallbearers will be Brian E. Hay, William N. Mitchell Jr., David E. Sutton Jr., Christopher J. Sutton, Jason M.
