He was born March 11, 1927 in Summit Mills, a son of the late Elmer William and Laura Margaret (Housel) Sutton. He is survived by his widow Anna Kathleene (Glessner) Sutton and these children: John Michael and his wife Tina (Halle) and Laura Marie Sutton, both of Meyersdale; Alice Dianne, wife of Joseph Hershberger and Kathy Smith both of Somerset; and Carol Ann Sutton out of state. Also 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a brother of: George Sutton, Fla.; Ernest Sutton, Brownsville; and Carolyn Butler of Meyersdale. He was a member of the Glade City Church of God, a veteran of WW II and retired employee of Penn Tables, Meyersdale. Friends were received Monday at M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale. The funeral service was held Tuesday at the Glade City Church of God, with Pastor Paul Middleton officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery.
