    Steve Svonavec, 101, of Friedens RD 1 died July 5, 1996, at his
  residence.  Born Dec. 26, 1894, in Czechoslovakia.  Son of John and
  Sophia (Friendisko) Svonavec.  Preceded in death by parents; wife the
  former Helen Bator who died Oct 23, 1984; daughter Margaret Knapp;
  great-granddaughter, Destiny Rose Svonavec who died Nov. 9, 1994;
  sister Mary Janidlo; and brother John Svonavec.  Survived by these
  children: Mrs. Helen Zborovancik, Friedens RD 1; Steve A. Svonavec,
  Somerset RD 7; Mrs. Joseph (Jane) Van Aller-Klotz, Shanksville; Mrs.
  Dean (Agnes) Hay, Rockwood RD 3; Joseph J. Svonavec, Rockwood RD 2;
  Donald W. Svonavec, Listie; Mrs. William (Elizabeth "Betsy") Aust,
  Friedens RD 1; John J. "Jim" Svonavec, Somerset RD 4; and Mrs.
  Dorothy "Dozy" Steinkirchner, Listie.  48 grandchildren, 115
  great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.  Member of St.
  Peter's Catholic Church and Jednota Society.  Retired farmer and coal
  miner.  Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset.  Mass of
  Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church,
  Somerset, with Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli, celebrant.  Interment,
  Listie Cemetery.  Wake service 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
