Born Feb 5, 1898, in Quemahoning Township, son of the late John L. and Barbara (Miller) Swank. Also preceded in death by his wife the former Margaret Miller; a brother, Miller, and infant children. He is survived by his daughter, Elaine, with whom he resided. He was a retired coal miner. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown; Hooversville Senior Citizens; and was a longtime treasurer of U.M.W. of A., Local 3091. Family received friends Thursday and will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will be removed to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown, for viewing from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Karyl J. Leslie officiating. Interment, P.O.S. of A.
