Swank, 93, Grantsville, Md., formerly of Somerset, died Sept. 23, 1996, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born May 12, 1903, in Lincoln Township, Somerset County, daughter of the late George and Alice (Fritz) Hemminger. Preceded in death by her husband Charles L. Swank, on Feb 12, 1965, and one granddaughter, Sharon; also two sisters and one brother. Survived by these children: Ray E., Somerset RD 4; Melvin, Friedens RD1; Clarence Dean, Somerset RD 8; Richard, Somerset RD 6; Robert, Somerset RD 5; Lloyd of Mechanicsburg, and Alice, married to Walter E. Stahl, Meyersdale RD 4; also 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Irene (Everett) Landis, Shanksville. Member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. Former member of the Ladies Volunteer Bible Class. Also a member of the Somerset Grange and resident of Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. (today) Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Casebeer Church, Rev. Dwight A. Huseman and Rev.
