Swank, 76, of Davidsville, formerly of Somerset, died Oct 1, 2001, at Laurelview Village. Born April 25, 1925 in Somerset, son of the late Charles and Odessa (Hemminger) Swank. Also preceded in death by his wife, Louvenia E. (Adams) to whom he had been married for 50 years. Survived by sons, Ronald E. Swank, married to the former Judy Thomas of Thomas Mills and Phillip Swank, married to the former Amy Shaulis of Willington, Conn.; grandchildren, Michael R. Swank, Wendy Sue Elko, Sgt. Bradley D. Swank and Kimberly Swank; great-grandchildren, Larissa, Emily and David Swank. Brother of Melvin Swank of Friedens, Richard Swank of Somerset, Robert Swank and Lloyd Swank, both of Berlin and Alice Stahl of Glencoe. Member aof Benscreek Lutheran Church, U.S. Navy Sea Bea's veteran of World War I. Retired met cutter and meat department head for A&P Tea Company. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Laurelview Village, Davidsville, with Pastor Wesley Yoder officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
