Swarner, 93, Lincoln Street, Cumberland, died Aug. 17, 1972, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. A native of Garrett, he was a son of the late Jeremiah and Barbara (Marker) Swarner. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Agnes Irwin. Mr. Swarner retired in 1960 after 62 years of service as a conductor of the B&O Railroad Company. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Conductors. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Walter Gray, at home; two sons, William E. Swarner, at home; and Robert D. Swarner, Cresaptown; seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon in Kight Funeral Home, Cumberland, with Rev. LaVern D. Rasmussen officiating.
