Mrs. Swartzwelder will be remembered by the older residents of Meyersdale as the former Anna Pyle, daughter of the late John and Emma (Mimna) Pyle, who many years ago resided with her parents on Large Street. She was born September 8th, 1869, and was aged 71 years, 8 months and 12 days at the time of her death. Surviving are her husband, Edward H. Swartzwelder, and these children: John Swartzwelder, Stoystown; Mary, wife of Samuel Gaylord, Hooversville; Effie, wife of Lester Brown, Hooversville, and Gladys, wife of Ray Daugherty, Paso Robles, Calif. She was a sister of Mrs. Alice Saylor, mother of Councilman Albert C. Saylor, High Street, Meyersdale; Harry Pyle, Boswell; Bert Pyle, Cleveland, Ohio; Charles Pyle, Boynton; Howard Pyle, Canton, Ohio; Mrs. Eva Lowry, Johnstown; Mrs. Elsie LaRue, Coal Run, and Mrs. Jeannette Ley, Canton, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the Swartzwelder home, Hooversville, at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, with interment in the P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville. Meyersdale Republican, July 24, 1941
