Born Sept. 2, 1926, in Seanor. Son of John J. and Belle (Cassady) Swartzwelder. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, James, Cletus and Louis; and sister, Alzene Martin. Survived by wife of 47 years, the former Arlene Woodman and these children: Mrs. Robert (Valerie) Casper, Stoystown RD 3; John F., married to the former Sandra J. Hoffman, Robertsdale, Ala.; and Mrs. Richard (Janna) Hearn, Oesterburg. Six grandchildren. Brother of Hilda, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Ernest, Stoystown RD 3; Leoma Coleman and George, both of Central City; and Devear, Stoystown. World War II Army veteran and Korean War Air Force veteran. Retired truck driver. Member of Loxley Presbyterian Church, Loxley, Ala. Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Keith Fink officiating. Interment, Otterbein Cemetery, Wilbur. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association. Graveside military rites by Menoher VFW Post 155.
