Swartzwelder, 68, of 1910 Dundee Lane, died at 3:30 p.m. July 27, 1972, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born Feb. 15, 1904, in Salisbury, son of John and Savilla (Meese) Swartzwelder. Survived by widow, former Phyllis Taylor. Brother of Harry, Cumberland, Md.; Guy and Stanley, both of Salisbury; and Mrs. Fren Christner, Coraopolis. Member of the United Church of Christ, Salisbury; PSEA; NEA; and Somerset County Principals Association. Graduate of Susquehanna University. Received master of arts degree in education from Stanford (Calif.) University. Retired principal of Shade High School. World War II Veteran.
