All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ ASA ALVIN SWAUGER Asa Alvin Swauger died at the home of his brother, Hubert Swauger, in Salisbury, Sept. 27, at 12:30 a.m., at the age of 20 years, 6 months and 23 days. His death was caused by chronic interstial nephritis. He was born in Garrett County, Md., and was a son of George W. and Carrie Speicher Swauger. He had been ailing for several years. The day before he died he was brought to the home of his brother who was making arrangements to take him to a hospital in Meyersdale. In the evening he became very ill, and a physician was called and did what he could to relieve his suffering, but he died a few hours later. He is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Hubert Swauger, Salisbury; Roy Swauger, serving in the U.S. Army in Mississippi; Harry Swauger, and Miss Thelma Swauger, Baltimore; Pearl, wife of Harry Bartlett, Miss Betty and Paul Swauger, all of Cumberland, and Nellie, wife of Bruce Warnick, Grantsville. Funeral services were held at the funeral parlor of Stanley M. Thomas, Salisbury mortician, today (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m. The officiating minister was Rev. J. B. Warman of Meyersdale, pastor of the Meyersdale and Salisbury Methodist congregation. Interment was in the Grantsville Cemetery under the direction of Mortician Thomas.
