She had been a patient in the Miners' Hospital, Frostburg for several weeks prior to her death. Mrs. Swauger, daughter of the late Richard and Mrs. Anna H. (Miller) Layman, Frostburg, was born Oct. 21, 1905, at Avilton. She is survived by her husband and the following named children: Robert Swauger, F. 2/c, Bainbridge, Md.; Walter Leland, Jr., James, Charles, Thomas and Marjorie Juanita; her mother, Mrs. Anna H. Layman; one sister, Mrs. William Miller and a brother, Lee Layman, Grantsville. She was married to Mr. Swauger, Aug. 20, 1926, and resided in New Germany until February last when they moved to Grantsville, Md. Mrs. Swauger was a member of the New Germany Methodist Church. Funeral services were held in the Grantsville Methodist Church, Tuesday afternoon, and were largely attended. Rev. R. G. Henson, assisted by Rev. Ira S. Monn of the Salisbury Reformed Church, officiated. Rev. Sylvestus Henson sang "The Unclouded Day", and "God Understands," accompanied by Mrs. S. Henson. The pallbearers were Sylvan, Dallas, and Blaine Durst, Oberlin Stevens, Herbert and William Layman. Interment in the Grantsville Cemetery. Relatives who attended the funeral were Mrs. Harriet Alice Swauger, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Alexander, La Vale; Mrs. Ada Brenneman, Cumberland; Mrs. Lottie Shaw, Greensburg, Pa., Stanley Swauger, Baltimore; Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Watkins, Akron, O., Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
