Swauger, 72, a former Mount Savage, Md., resident who had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kraus, at 111814 Mulberry Avenue, Potomac Park, died September 9, 1982 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md., where she had been a patient for two weeks. She was born at Berlin, and was a daughter of the late Abram Gordon and Cecelia (Hosken) Gordon. Her husband was the late C. Albert Swauger. She was a past president of the Mount Savage Firemen's Auxiliary; a past president of the Allegany-Garrett County Firemen's Auxiliary, and a member of the Daughter of America, Mount Savage. Also surviving are two sons, Abram Swauger, Friedens, and George Swauger, Millville, N.J.; another daughter, Mrs. Leona (Sissy) Loughner, Arlington, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Idella Dickel, Frostburg; Mrs. Myrtle Steele, Eckhart; Mrs. Mary Housel, Zihlman, and Mrs. Olive Bridges, Mount Savage, three brothers, William Gordon, Mount Savage; John Gordon, Frostburg, and George Gordon, of Borden; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home in Frostburg. The Republic, September 16, 1982 [S3457]
