SWAUGER Walter David Swauger, 67, of RD 1, Grantsville, Md.; died Wednesday, March 29, 1989, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Martinsburg, W. Va. Born March 15, 1922, in Grantsville, Md., he was the son of the late Richard Howard and Mary Catherine (Spiker) Swauger. He was an Army veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of private first class. He was a maintenance man with the Maryland Park Service at New Germany State Park and a life member of Mountaintop Chapter 29, Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are two brothers, Charles Swauger and Richard Swauger, both of Grantsville, Md.; and two sisters, Helena Sue Maust, Meyersdale; and Edna Swauger, Brooklyn, N.Y. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home by the Rev. Ross Glotfelty. Interment Mount Zion Cemetery.
