  CHARLES SWEARMAN
  
    Charles R. Swearman, 77, Ellicott City, Md., formerly of
  Meyersdale, died Aug. 16, 1977, in Sykesville, Md.  He was born
  August 4, 1900, a son of the late Henry and Ellen (Bittner) Swearman.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Maude Spiker, and these
  children: Guy, Ellicott City, Md.; Larry, and Mrs. Arlene Rockwell,
  both of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Sarah Jean Bridges, Mt. Savage, Md.; and
  Ms. Etta Armstrong, Sykesville, Md.; 18 grandchildren and four
  great-grandchildren.  He was a brother of Edward, St. Paul; and Mrs.
  Minnie Fike, Meyersdale.
    Funeral services were held Friday at the Price Funeral Home with
  Rev. David Fetter officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery.
