Swearman, 77, of Pine Hill Road, Meyersdale, died Jan. 28, 2002 at Beverly Healthcare Meyersdale. Born June 28, 1924 in Summit Mills, a son of the late Robert L. and Lola E. (Lindeman) Swearman. Preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Ann, 1953. Survived by his wife, Thelma Grace (Uphold) and daughter Vickie E., wife of Edward H. Mulnix, Meyersdale; three grandchildren Chris Mulnix, Jeannette, Christina Mulnix wife of Michael Warden, Sevierville, Tenn., and Brian Mulnix and his wife, Ruth Livengood, Meyersdale; great-grandchildren Melinda, Austin and Autumn Mulnix and Elizabeth and Gabriel Warden. A brother of Blaine Swearman and wife Doris of Irwin, and William and wife Joyce of Somerset. He was a disabled veteran of World War II. Served in New Guinea. Formerly employed by Harvey Gortner Ford, Frank Beamer, H.J. Beamer and Dean O'Neil Ford of Meyersdale. Retired in 1986 from Dean O'Neil Ford with a total of 40 years as a mechanic. He was a graduate of Meyersdale High School class of 1943. He was a member of Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home. On Wednesday, he will be taken to the Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church to lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. time of service. Rev. Randy Haulk and Rev. Robert Stahl officiating.
