Swearman, 73, of Somerset, died Feb. 25, Somerset Community Hospital. Born April 15, 1903 in Meyersdale, son of George and Missouri Tressler Swearman. Survived by his widow the former Gladys Walker, two daughters: Mrs. Earl (Ann) Madeira, Somerset; Mrs. Delmas (Carol) Hutzell, Somerset RD 6; four grandchildren. He was brother of Frederick and Mrs. James (Ruth) Hoffmeyer, both of Meyersdale; Robert, Meyersdale RD 1; Mrs. Homer (Sadie) Boger and Mrs. Ray (Margaret) Sechler, both Meyersdale RD 4. Preceded in death by five sisters. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church Somerset, church council, Beacon Sunday School Class, and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Somerset. He was employed by Somerset Borough for a number of years. He is retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike as a toll collector. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Saturday, Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Charles Rumell. Interment, Husband Cemetery. Somerset Daily American, February 26, 1977 [S3476]
