Sweitzer, 67, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 1988, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md. Born Nov. 28, 1920, in Swanton, Md., he was the son of the late Noah L. and Elizabeth (Tasker) Sweitzer. He retired as a brakeman in 1982 with the B&O Railroad and was a member of United Transportation Union and the Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Pauline M. (Bittinger) Sweitzer; three daughters: Mrs. Norma L. Guthrie, Mountain Lake Park, Md.; Mrs. Sharon M. Hebb and Mrs. Sheila M. Williams, both of Swanton, Md.; four sons: Roy W. Sweitzer and Norman L. Sweitzer, both of Swanton, Md.; Mark L. Sweitzer, Markleysburg; and Ervin J. Sweitzer, Grantsville, Md.; two brothers: Wilmer Sweitzer, Swanton, Md.; and Donald Sweitzer, Girard, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, Md., where services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ellis Harvey. Interment, George Cemetery.
