He was born Jan. 18, 1898, in Austria, the son of the late Mike and Anna (Scheitski) Swet. He was preceded in death by a daughter. He is survived by his wife, the former Lena Yonish and these children: Mike of Pittsburgh; Mrs. William (Mary) Hoyden of Pittsburgh; Metri of Gibsonia; Andy of Chicago; Mrs. John (Olga) Baker of Berlin RD 4; Mrs. Steve (Katherine) Slifco of Berlin Rd 3; Mrs. Lester (Martha) Beeghley of Chicago; John Jr., of Monroeville; Mrs. Michael (Pauline) Simmons of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Rudolph (Helen) Pucivich of Pittsburgh; Roseann of Chicago; Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Chuly of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Jessie (Della) Dison of Florence, Ala.; Charles of Adamsburg; Mrs. Lewis (Nadjia) Yesuslis of Chicago; Paul of Berlin RD 4; and Timothy of Chicago; 29 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Charles, Fannie, Pauling, and Katy. He was a member of the UMWA and SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church. Funeral mass was read in SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Pine Hill, Jan. 2 with the Rev. Father John Goversick officiating. Interment, Pine Hill Cemetery in charge of Johnson and Son Funeral Home.
