ROBERTA JOHNSON SWOPE

  Mrs. Roberta Johnson Swope, aged 42, died very suddenly at her home, Tuesday 
afternoon.  She was the wife of Orin Swope and the daughter of Robert and Elsie 
George Johnson of Blairsville.  Mrs. Swope was born in Blairsville and received 
her elementary education in the public schools there.  She was a graduate of 
Thiel College and Indiana State Teachers College.  She taught in Homer City for 
four years and in the Berlin High School for two years.  She was an untiring 
worker in the Berlin Reformed Church, also a member of the Dames of Malta.
  She is survived by her husband, her father and mother and these children: 
Charles, Robert, John Orin, Harry Edmund and Barbara Ann.  Also three step-
daughters, Mrs. Helen Lehman, Berlin; Mrs. Isabel Large, Syracuse, N.Y., and 
Mrs. Elnora Nedrow, Garrett; also by a sister, Mrs. Margaret Bronson, 
Blairsville.
  Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the Swope home in Berlin, 
with interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin, under the direction of Johnson 
and Son.
