    Ethel C. Syphrit, 68, Stoystown RD 1, dead on arrival Dec. 9, 1987,
  at Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 1, 1919, in Jenner
  Township, daughter of Lester P. Davis and Sara Price.  Preceded in
  death by parents; stepfather, Arthur Crise.  Survived by husband,
  Frank D.; and daughter, Virginia, wife of Sanford Pletcher, Rockwood
  RD 1; also grandchildren, Sanford Jr., and Melissa.  Member of
  Hopewell United Methodist Church and Wimodausis Rebekah Lodge 217,
  Somerset.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where
  service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Warren C. Cravotta
  officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.  Rebekah
  service 7:30 p.m. Friday.
