Born May 23, 1914, in Hooversville, daughter of Charles and Jennie (Peterman) Shreffler. Preceded in death by parents, husband Ralph, son Brian, sisters Alice and Violet Shreffler, Elsie Boyer and Idella Eicher, and brothers Ellsworth, Herman and Charles. Survived by a son James C., married to the former Lourdes Valerio of Brandywine, Md., and grandchildren, Suzanne, James C. II and Kara. Also survived by sisters, Arvilla "Bill" Whetzel and Mae Lauer, both of Somerset; fosterbrother, Kenneth Sheffler of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews. Graduate of the former Hooversville High School. She was a former waitress at various local restaurants and in Washington, D.C. Member of Order of the Eastern Star Electra Chapter 2, District of Columbia. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 2p.m. Tuesday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 239 W. Church St., Somerset, Rev. Raymond Lyon officiating.
