Tannihill, 91, of Rockwood, died Aug. 29, 1983, in Somerset Community Hospital. She was born April 8, 1892, in Somerset County, a daughter of William and Rose (Reitz) McVicker. She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Margaret Fisher of Somerset; and Mrs. Mary (McVicker) Gardner of St. John's Lutheran Home, Mars; and four grandchildren: Carter Tannihill, Houston, Texas; Gerald Tannihill of Somerset; Mrs Janice Spino, Melborne, Fla.; and Shawn Tannihill, also of Melborne, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G, Tannihill; an only son, Robert C. Tannihill; also three brothers: Robert, Austin and John; and a sister, Ella Hay. She was a member of the Rockwood United Church of Christ. Friends were received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, where services were conducted with her pastor, the Rev. Jack Hazlett and Dr. W.H.R. Wilkens (a nephew of the deceased). Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery. The Republic, September 8, 1983 [T020]
