He was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Blough, the son of Charles and Anna May (Slifco) Tataleba and had been an area resident since 1955. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Dieter and Helen Crabtree. His survivors include his wife, Emily (Hooks), whom he married Sept. 25, 1958, in Sharon; two children, Ron (Daria) Tataleba, Ashtabula; and Elaine (Richard) Riegner, Lakeville, Minn.; two grand-children, Nichole Tataleba and David Riegner; and three brothers, Charles Jr., John and James, all of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. A graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School, he worked more than 30 years for the RMI Sodium Plant prior to his retirement in 1991. He also worked for Ashtabula County Residential Services and part-time for the Dean Funeral Home and then Ducro Funeral Services. He is veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. A member of the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church, he was also a Master Mason belonging to Orion Lodge 353, F&AM. A loyal Cleveland sports fan, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, bowling and the out-doors. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with a Masonic Memorial Service to be held at 7:45 p.m. A service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church, 6546 Church St., N. Kingsville. The Rev. Joyce Shellhammer, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville with full military honors conducted by Geneva VFW Post 6846.
