Tayman, a B. & O. bridge inspector, residing at Rockwood, died suddenly at his home there on Sunday evening, Aug. 7, at the age of 49 years, 2 months and 23 days. He was a son of the late George and Catherine (Herman) Tayman of Allegheny Township. Twenty-eight years ago he entered the employ of the B. & O. Railroad Company and for the last ten years acted in the capacity of bridge inspector. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Rockwood, where for a number of years he was a teacher in the Sunday School. As a Sunday School teacher, he was regarded as very efficient, having a knowledge of the Bible not possessed by the average layman. He belonged to the Masons, Odd Fellows and Modern Woodmen of America. He came home from work on Saturday evening and complained of not feeling well. On Sunday he remained in bed but planned on getting up in the evening and going to his work. When Mrs. Tayman returned to his room after being away for a short time, she found him dead. He was a man of unusual strength and robust health, and during his employment had lost only about three days on account of his own illness. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father and a congenial companion. He is survived by his wife and three children, Catherine, George and Clarence, Jr., all at home; by two brothers, Harry of Hyndman, Pa.; and Walter, of Berlin, and by two sisters, Mrs. Leora Aberle of Uniontown, and Mrs. Ruth Coughenour of Fairhope. A sister, Mrs. Clara Lansberry, died two months ago in Somerset. A brother, Oran, and a sister, Lucy, passed away several years ago. Funeral services were held at his late home on Wednesday, Aug. 10, Rev. A. E. Kresge, of Meyersdale, officiating. Interment was in the Hyndman Cemetery where the Masonic order had charge of the services. Meyersdale Republican, August 18, 1932
