TEDROW John Wesley Tedrow, 97, of Rockwood, died March 17, 1974, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Feb. 9, 1877, in Trent, he was a son of the late Hiram and Amanda (Moore) Tedrow. He was also preceded in death by his wife, the former Emma Younkin, in 1964, and by a sister, Jennie Lyons. He owned and operated a farm for 60 years in Milford Township. He spent several years as a teacher, and was considered an authority on both ancient and modem history. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and was a charter member of Milford Grange. Surviving are four suns, Robert of Reidsville, N.C.; Paul of Storrs, Conn.; John of Edison, N. J.; and Frank of Rockwood; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Bowman of Rockwood; and Mrs. Eleanor Romesberg, Rockwood RD 2; 17 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. Funeral service was conducted Tuesday afternoon in William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, with Rev. Gene Abel officiating. Interment in Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
