Born Aug. 1, 1930, in Connellsville, daughter of Ray E. and Florence (Sanner) Carpenter. She is survived by her mother, Florence Carpenter, Rockwood; her husband, William, Markleton RD 1; son, Donald E., Markleton RD 1; stepson, John Tedrow, Tampa, Fla.; daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Deborah) Stalsitz, Rockaway, N.J.; stepdaughter, Miss Susan Tedrow, Shippensburg; four brothers: Ronald, Percyville, Va.; Ray, Rockwood; Edward, Frederick, Md.; and Kenneth, Hagerstown, Md.; two sisters: Mrs. Homer (Marion) Hinzy, Somerset, and Mrs. Richard (Carol) Withum, Pittsburgh; also three grandsons. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray E. Carpenter, in August 1978. Her death terminates a marriage of five years. She was sales manager of Stanley Home Products for 31 years. She was a 1948 graduate of Rockwood High School. She was a member of the O.E.S. Trinity Chapter 138 of Somerset, president of the Children's Aid Society Women's Auxiliary, and a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Rockwood. Friends received in the William Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, 7-9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday when the remains will be removed to St. Luke's Lutheran Church for services at 3 p.m. with Pastor Susan Winger officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in her name to St. Luke's Lutheran Church. There will be no viewing in the church.
