He was born in Salisbury November 20, 1907, the son of Bella (Alexander) Tenney and the late Dowell L. Tenney. Mr. Tenney lived in Pittsburgh before moving to Washington in 1940. An electrician and maintenance foreman at Washington Mould and Machine Foundry for 26 years, he retired in 1970 because of poor health. He was a member of Sunset Lodge 623 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh and Syria Temple of Pittsburgh. On October 16, 1935, he married Anne (Unger) Tenney, who died January 10, 1973. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Bella A. Tenney at home and a son, David C. Tenney of Kinnelon, N.J. Friends were received in the Stewart F. Barnhill Funeral Home, Washington, where services were conducted by the Rev. Floyd Marasco, pastor of the Friendship Community Church and the Rev. Leroy Y. Dillener, associate pastor of the Church of the Covenant. Burial was in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. The Republic, March 9, 1978 [T111]
