All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ LAVORINA TESTE Mrs. Lavorina Teste, wife of Luigi Teste, died Tuesday in the Wenzel Hospital following the amputation of her left leg to arrest the spread of gangrene, the result of sugar diabetes from which she had suffered for some time. Mrs. Teste was a native of Italy, but had imigrated to the United States when quite young. For some time the family has resided at Shaw Mines where Mr. Teste was employed in the mines and later conducted a fuel mine on his own account. Besides her husband, Mrs. Teste is survived by the following children: August Teste, Delaware; Mrs. Lena Direnzo, Somerset; Victoria Teste, at home; Monday Teste, Delaware; John and Orlando Teste, both serving in the U.S. Army; Maria Teste, at home; Albert Teste, Erie; Andrew Teste, Meyersdale, and Mrs. Emma Railey, Cumberland, Md.. There are also six grandchildren. Mrs. Teste was considered by all who knew her as a kind and doting mother, a model help-mate and a generous and helpful neighbor, as well as having been patriotically inclined toward the country of her adoption. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 10 o'clock in SS. Philip and James Catholic Church by her pastor, the Rev. Father Howard T. Miller. Interment in SS. Philip and James Cemetery under the direction of R. Reich & Son, local morticians. Meyersdale Republican, April 23, 1942
