  CARL W. THARP
  
  Carl W. Tharp, 75, Hoffman Hollow Road, Frostburg, Md., died Friday, July
  22, 1988, at Frostburg Community Hospital, Md.  Born March 22, 1913, at
  Borden Mines, he was the son of the late Truman and Julie (Rupp) Tharp.  He
  was a retired employee of the Chessie System.  Surviving are his widow,
  Florence (Butler) Tharp; three sons: W. Edward Tharp, Baltimore, Md.;
  Ronald E. Tharp, Ridgeley, W. Va.; and Roy D. Tharp, at home; one daughter,
  Mrs. Dorothy Bittinger, Grantsville, Md. ; one brother, Ralph Tharp, Consol,
  Md.; two sisters: Mrs. Virginia Butler, Grantsville, Md.; and Miss Elizabeth
  Tharp, Frostburg, Md.; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
  Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, Md. where
  services were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. T. William Preston.
  Interment, Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md.
