  Charles O. Thomas, 69, of W. Main St, Somerset, died April 4, 1979, at
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Nov. 1, 1909, in Knox, Pa., son of the
  late Benjamin and Anna (Cropp) Thomas.  Preceded in death by first wife, the
  former Mary Alice Blaser.  Survived by second wife, the former Alice Fritz
  Layton; also two children, Mrs. Kenton (Nancy, Roberts and John C., both of
  Somerset; two step-sons, John C. Layton and Robert A., both of San Antonio,
  Texas; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one step
  great-grandson.  Brother of Mrs. Mary Black of Knox; Edwin of Munster, Ind.;
  Mrs. Anna Belle Bowser of Erie; Mrs. Jerry (Dorothy) Mull of Ellen-ton, Fla.
  Member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset, and retiree of Crane
  Co., Somerset.  Family will received friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Thursday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service will be
  conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Carl Hull officiating.  Interment,
  Husband Cemetery.
