(Dubby) Delmar C. "Dubby" Thomas, 84, Davidsville, went to be with the Lord, July 17, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 27, 1922 in Conemaugh Township, son of Jacob Earl and Barbara (Yoder) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Naomi; and brother, Lester Thomas. Survived by wife of 57 years, the former Mary Shettler. He was a wonderful husband and father. Also survived by these children: Donna, wife of Joseph Beamer, Townsend, Del.; Darlene, wife of Dale Miller, Goshen, Ind.; Denise, wife of Robert Anderson, Denver; Debra, wife of Julian Chaves, Hollsopple; and Danita, wife of Robert Speigle, Boswell; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Twila Hill, Fla., and Zona and husband, Glen Berkshire, Va. He was a life member of Kaufman Mennonite Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher, council member and trustee. He was a Sears serviceman for 38 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed doing what he did best, repairing anything and everything for anyone who needed his help. He was a volunteer at the World' s Attic, where he also served on the board. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kaufman Mennonite Church, 916 Miller Picking Road, the Rev. Keith Yoder officiating. Interment Blough Mennonite Cemetery. Those who wish, please make donations to Johnstown Christian School or to the Mennonite Central Committee, Akron, Florists, please deliver flowers to Kaufman Mennonite Church on Wednesday.
