  Eleanor Louise Thomas, 75. of Friedens, formerly of Garrett, died Oct. 14,
  2000 at Somerset Hospital.  Born April 21, 1925 in Berlin, the daughter of
  the late Ray and Mae (Gindlesperger) Bittner Brant.  Also preceded in death
  by her husband, Paul D. Thomas.  Survived by children: Mrs. Ted (Karen)
  Krause of Friedens and Mrs. Eugene (Linda) Gontis of Somerset;
  grandchildren: Daniel Ohler, married to the former Lori James, Mrs. Daniel
  (Lori) Holloway, Mrs. Greg (Amy) Vought, and Greg Gontis;
  great-grandchildren: Candace Day, Lindsey Ohler, Daniel Ohler Jr., Nicholas
  Ohler and Jordan Holloway.  Also survived by a brother, Carey Brant of
  Berlin.  Member of Beachdale Church of the Brethren. Retired nurses' aide
  from Siemon's Lakeview Manor Estate.  Friends were received Sunday and will
  be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral
  Home where services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Larry Black
  officiating.  Interment in the Beachdale Cemetery.  Contributions may be made
  to the Somerset Food Pantry, 918 Tayman Avenue Somerset, Pa., 15501.
