Thomas, 78, Laurel View Village, Davidsville, formerly of Thomas Mills, died Feb. 20, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 28, 1920, on Hollsopple RD 2, daughter of Harry S. and Nellie (Cable) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by husband, D. Carl Thomas, Laurel View Village; children: Jeanne, wife of Douglas Cober and Judy, wife of Ronald Swank, both of Thomas Mills, and Dr. Janette Thomas-Greenwood, Worcester, Mass.; grandchildren; Tracey Seganos, Jill Dumin, Christine Shroyer, Michael Swank, Wendy Sue Elko, Bradley Swank and Elizabeth and Susannah Greenwood; and great-grandchildren: Alex and Jordan Shroyer, Lauren and Jaynie Seganos, Nikolai and Natalie Dumin and Larissa and Emily Swank. Sister of William Thomas and wife Ethel Mae, Hollsopple. Member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, where she served as deaconess, Sunday School teacher and Bible school teacher and was former president of Women's Fellowship and Ladies Aid: Member of Conemaugh Township Historical Society. Retired rural mail carrier. She enjoyed quilting, poetry, canning, cooking and music. Observed 58th wedding anniversary Feb. 10. Family receiving friends from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Private graveside service at convenience of family. Memorial service will he held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, the Rev. Beverly Good and the Rev. Raymond Sistek. Interment, Thomas Mennonite Cemetery. Please make donations to Maple Spring Church of the Brethren building fund/elevator project.
