  John R. Thomas, 47, of Port Deposit, Md., died July 3, 1978 at Dover, Del.
  Born Sept. 5, 1930, son of William and Madeline (Weyant) Thomas.  Preceded
  in death by father in 1954 Survived by mother, wife, the former Betty
  Custer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Custer of Berlin; two daughters,
  Mrs. Dale (Vickey) Curl of Dover, Del. and Mrs. Mary Dale of Rising Sun,
  Md.  Also survived by one brother, Donald Weyant of Avis.  Member of the
  First United Penecostal Church of North East Maryland, and worked for the
  Wiley Manufacturing Co. of Port Deposit.  Friends will be received after 7
  p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services
  will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday.  Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
