Thomas, 57, of Seanor, died in the Windber Hospital Saturday morning, August 1, after an illness of four months. He had been employed as a laborer for Berwind-White Coal Mining Company and was a son of Samuel and Claresa Kretchman Thomas and was born in Meyersdale. Surviving are his widow, two children, whom the Thomas couple reared, Marjorie Livingston, Seanor, and Mrs. James Holsopple, Windber. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Albert and William Thomas, Rockwood; Mrs. Charles Huyett, Franklin Grove, Ill.; Mrs. Ephriam Clay, Mrs. Edward Friedline, Mrs. Charles Cook and Miss Elmira Thomas, all of Rockwood. His parents preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Thursday afternoon in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church at Scalp Level with the Rev. Maurice M. Smeal, pastor, officiating.
