  Mildred E. (Weaver) Thomas, 85, Hollsopple RD 2, died April 1, 1997, at the
  Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.  Born Sept. 19, 1911, in Jenner Township,
  daughter of William and Randa (Griffith) Weaver.  Preceded in death by
  parents; husband, Carl F., Oct. 27, 1991; sister, Freda Wagner; brother,
  Owen, and brothers-in-law, Chester Thomas and Archie Wagner.  Survived by
  sons: Eugene W., married to Phyllis Lloyd, Frederick, Md., and Stanley J.,
  married to Bonnie Cruickshank, Hollsopple RD 2; grandchildren: David
  Thomas, Rebecca (Thomas), wife of Martin Hile, and Lori Thomas; and
  great-granddaughter, Calli Ann Hile.  Also survived by sisters-in-law, Irene
  Thomas, Hollsopple RD 2, and Emily Weaver, Boswell.  Lifelong member of the
  Jenner Township Baptist Church, where she played the piano for 76 years.
  Also pianist for the Gideon Male Chorus.  Active in the American Baptist
  Centre Association, the Supper Club :and the Missionary Society at Memorial
  Baptist Church, Johnstown.  A retired employee of the former Swank's
  Hardware, Johnstown.  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at: the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street,
  Boswell.  Viewing also from 10 a.m: until the time of service at 11 Friday
  at the Jenner Township Baptist Church, the Rev. Curtis Hamel and the Rev.
  Donald Speigle officiating.  Interment, church cemetery.
